COMMITMENT OF ORIGIN OF DIAMONDS

At Germán Joyero we are aware of the need to verify the origin of our gems and especially diamonds. That is why we only work with suppliers that comply with the Kimberley Process (KPCS) certifications that prevent the diamond trade from being used to finance armed conflicts.

What is the Kimberley Process?

The guarantee clause of the Kimberley Process is the system that guarantees the consumer that the diamonds purchased in their jewelry do not come from countries or areas with a warlike conflict, commonly called “Blood Diamonds”.

For this reason, the Kimberley Process guarantee system established by the UN determines that manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, jewelers and individuals must demand from their supplier the guarantee clause on their invoice.

Therefore, this guarantee must be requested by the individual from the retailer; and this in turn, to the wholesaler or manufacturer, and so on until the diamond producer, thus establishing a chain of guarantees from the producer to the final consumer.
